Rustic Beach Dining in Ibiza
Long lazy lunches in Ibiza can sometimes be so much more rewarding when you leave behind the flashy Ibiza beach clubs and discover some of the island´s more rustic, authentic spots, where you can feast on the freshest fish and most succulent cuts of meat to be found at some of the very best but little known Ibiza restaurants! Unlock the true taste of Ibiza with these rustic, typical Ibicencan style hidden gems. Below is a selection of some of the best on offer.
This delightful rustic shack perches slightly perilously on the side of the rocks at Cala Mastella, however, the food and the view is unrivalled. There is no menu here, they serve the house speciality only – Bullit de Peix y Arroz a Banda. A truly traditional and hearty meal of fresh fish with rice boiled in a fish broth, cooked in front of you over an open fire.
This idyllic beach shack restaurant offers a daily differing fresh selection of fish and seafood. Located at the foot of an incredibly steep cliff, enjoy the adventurous drive down and the views over the beautiful coastline.
A divine cliffside lunch spot. We adore the house speciality, the oven cooked John Dory with potatoes and peppers, and to finish off the meal perfectly, take the Café Caleta, coffee with alcohol served expertly in an earthenware pot.
This is five-star dining with your feet in the sand! Owner Xicu Sala opened his shack 10 years ago and has created one of the islands finest seafood dining experiences. The sea cucumbers and sautéed clams simply have to be tasted to be believed!
Boasting one of the finest views on all of Ibiza, this hillside restaurant serves possibly the best paella on the island and fine fish dishes on the busy little Ibiza beach of Cala D’hort overlooking the mythical Es Vedra island rock.
Fantastic for a quick and easy sardine lunch… Ses Boques is a laid-back venue with wooden tables scattered under the pine trees of Es Cubells Beach.
The Fish Shack
We simply love this place. There is no menu, only the freshest catches of the day are served here on one grill in an actual shack! The no-frills, laid-back ambience and excellent food mean that this is a surefire favourite for both island residents and visitors alike, and is always busy. The grilled lamb chops are a great choice if you’ve had your fill of fish!!
