Hi Ibiza Closing Party

Here at Ibiza Unlocked we can barely believe that another sublime summer has passed on the White Island. As always, it’s been a rollercoaster ride full of thrills and spills, a heady combination of decadence, indulgence and revelry, and we´ve loved every minute. As the season draws to a close,we are reminiscing and reflecting on our personal favourite nights at the island´s superclubs, at which we and our clients have danced until we dropped this summer!

On the club scene, expectations were at an all time high at the beginning of the season, when the new superclub Hï Ibiza opened its doors, sitting on the hallowed grounds which were once home to the much loved Space. The newcomers had big shoes to fill, but the new venue exceeded everyone´s expectations and won over even the most cynical of clubbers.

And in our humble opinion, the best party hosted by this exceptional venue was by far the
downrightly decadent disco night Glitterbox, the brainchild of Defected record label boss Simon Dunmore which had the dancefloor packed each and every Friday with party people who came to enjoy the unpretentious atmosphere and uplifting musical mix of dirty disco and soulful house.

The closing party boasted a world class line up including Loco Dice and Guy Gerber, but it was Jamie Jones who had the crowd in the palm of his hand with a simply mindblowing set to bring the curtain down on this fabulous first season at Hï Ibiza.

And of course, the other clubs did not disappoint, with the eternally popular Pacha enjoying a
superb summer, with Solomun reigning supreme on Sundays with his Solomun + 1 parties seeing some superstar DJ´s such as Sven Vath and Damian Lazarus join the party. The man himself ensured the vibe was nothing less than exceptional at the closing, playing an epic back to back set with Tales of Us, creating showstopping scenes which were truly unforgettable.

Over at Ushuaia the Saturday daytime party Ants enjoyed yet another exceptional season with their underground style attracting both island residents and holidaymakers alike to dance the day away in the sprawling Ushuaia complex underneath the Ibizan skies. Closing with Ushuaia stalwart Andrea Oliva who was joined by Maya Jane Coles and Lauren Lane, ensuring all hands were in the air for the curtain call.

best clubs in Ibiza that you should know

As always, DC10 retained its reputation for showcasing the finest underground and upcoming talents from the scene, Mondays as always were ruled supreme by the Circo Loco crew, but this year, Wednesdays became bigger and better as Jamie Jones´ Paradise parties attracted a loyal following of partygoers. The closing party of DC10 is always considered to be the grand finale of the year, and of course this year was no exception with all the usual suspects behind the decks as they bid farewell to yet another sensational summer.

Up in the North of the island, the Acid Sundays parties, previously hosted at Heart moved to the  iconic Las Dalias market, with a bohemian crowd getting their rocks off to some psychedelic trance tunes and causing a veritable roadblock each week. The Wax da Jam boys returned for yet another successful season bringing their own inimitable style and music to their faithful followers.

Privilege enjoyed something of a revival this summer after a relatively quiet few years, with island legend Carl Cox breathing new life into the iconic venue and the residency from Sasha & Digweed’s ensured that Privilege is once again well and truly back on the scene.

Over in San Antonio, Eden´s biggest success of the summer were the Defected parties, and Pikes Hotel saw DJ Harvey´s Mercury Rising residency ensure an unrivalled atmosphere throughout the summer.

Across the road, Amnesia experienced yet another astounding season, with Elrow becoming one of the most popular nights on the island, plus of course the island´s longest running promoters, Cream packing the superclub each week with guest DJ´s such as the legendary Fatboy Slim. Amnesia closing is always a highly anticipated event, marking the end of this summer for most die hard clubbers, and this year, Damian Lazarus closed the season in his own inimitable style, dropping some seriously subversive tunes as the sun started to rise, rest assured that this was a night no one who attended will ever forget!

Here at Ibiza Unlocked we had the privilege of introducing clients old and new to the downright dirty decadence the island has to offer, and we enjoyed every second of this summer, as it proved once again Ibiza remains the best place in the world to party…….. We look forward to much more of the same next year!
